The Sidereal Cycle is a four-part suite of long-form ambient works created by ambient sage Altus to reflect the earths annual cycles as we make our way around the sun each year.



Each release coincides with the Solstices and Equinoxes. The title of each track pays homage to dominant constellations in the northern sky during each of the seasons.



This entire four-part series is given the release of the month as each is a small part of a well designed and beautifully articulated conceptual whole.

A 5.5 hour compendium that could be compared to War & Peace in the Creative Commons musical realms. Due to the tireless efforts of Ayn Morgan and John Tocher, this compilation can truly boast of strong variations from artist to artist and track to track, but

also the release maintains a focused consistency throughout the five and half hours of music. Considering the size of this

release, we find this consistency quite impressive. The compilation bounces across many genres as well, from noise to drone,

ambient to experimental.



The Chestnut Tree compilation includes over 60 artists from 18 countries, collected for the program's one year anniversary on KPFT

, 90.1FM in Houston, Texas. The program also airs on Stillstream.com, the largest ambient radio community on-line. This

Dave Seidel, aka mysterybear, is a composer/performer based in southern New Hampshire who works with electronics in both live-improvised and composed idioms. Dave is a long-time guitarist and programmer which becomes evident when you hear the depth and power in his music. We are quite impressed with mysterybear's unique form of trance-inducing ambient and drone music, which is as meditative as it is relaxing.



Dave composes incredible soundscapes written with Csound that explores microtonal tunings, generative rhythms,
and improvised music without computers, keyboards (and sometimes without synths) that is often based on feedback systems. Programmers and command line composers will all want to take note of Dave's stunning compositions and sound designs.
